Our metal fabrication professionals have created and installed bollards – the anchored cylindrical structures often found around entrance and exit doors - in several downtown Milwaukee parking garages. Often colored bright yellow, bollards prevent vehicles from hitting the door frames. They’re solid and unmovable – either galvanized metal covered with a plastic sleeve, or a painted concrete cylinder. Either way, when a vehicle strikes a bollard, the bollard wins. The driver knows immediately they’ve made a boo-boo. Unless really distracted, they correct their path. Hopefully damage is limited to a small bumper ding.
